Data is continually
gathered and analyzed in real time during every flight. Over 80
parameters are monitored, and over 50 FOQA conditions are analyzed.
Upon landing, on-board equipment connects to the Internet, and uploads the datafile and key reports to the secure server.
Av-Mail sends
an automatic engine trend analysis and Maintenance Operational Quality
Assurance (MOQA) report covering key engine performance parameters, as
well as diagnostics gathered during the flight.
FD-Mail sends an automatic reporting of Exceedances and Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) events to GA-FDM analysts.
Trained professionals
review each FD-Mail report for key indicators, review the full flight
datafile, and may also perform a graphical playback of the flight using
GoogleEarth Pro and/or X-plane simulations.
Based upon this
review, GA-FDM will assess next steps, which might include an Event
Study (upon customer request), a Training Advisory (de-identified), or
other follow-up according to GA-FDM policies and customer preferences.

Flight data can then be played back as a simulation using X-Plane on your own PC or Mac.
